Following the announce of Final Fantasy X HD, made by Square Enix at recent Tokyo Games Show'11, in conditions of strong hunger for additional details and information regarding this project, fresh rumors appeared, covering the questions of possible new features of remake and its release date.
Interesting news brought Sony press-conference that took place just before the opening of Tokyo Games Show 2011, passing these days in Japan. Square Enix announced development of HD-remake for its Final Fantasy X, which was released on PlayStation 2 in 2001. Final Fantasy X HD, accordingly to Square Enix representatives, will be available both on PlayStation Vita, that scheduled to be released in Japan on December, 17, and PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, additional details, as the approximate date of release, is unavailable at the moment.
Nintendo finally announced release dates for their upcoming portable console — Nintendo 3DS. Successor of Nintendo DS will be released on February 26, 2011 in Japan with price of USD$300, March 25th in Europe and March 27th in US ( priced at 250$ ). Wide game publishers support is also claimed — in 2011 for 3DS will be released such games as Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, Kid Icarus: Uprising, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Dead or Alive Dimensions, Ridge Racer 3D, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars and The Sims 3.
During presentation in Tokyo, that took place on January, 18,Square Enix officially announced a sequel to it's Final Fantasy XIII game, that was released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in March, 2010. Final Fantasy series fans probably not surprised by fact that new game get Final Fantasy XIII-2 title, because that practice is not new — in 2003 a sequel to Final Fantasy X was released with title of Final Fantasy X-2.
