Kongregate.com, afree games web portal and gamers community, announces long-awaited support for Unity games and in cooperation with Unity Technologies starts Unity game contest with 25000 $ prize funds. Contesters must create and publish on Kongregate.com their Unity-based games before Feb. 15 and 25 top rated projects will automatically pass to finals. Then winners will be judged by creativity, innovation, use of Unity and overall game quality and gameplay. Additionally games must be integrated with Kongregate Statistics API. There is no restriction on game type or genre — it's can be anything you may want to create, from casual games to experimental gameplay projects.
YoYo Games, developer of popular game constructor Game Maker, in their blog tells that support for Android platform is almost ready. As a demonstration of this they posted video where we can see game maked in Game Maker that runs on Android smartphone. Accordingly to blog post, "runner" for Android already supports all Game Maker projects, but there is few "finishing touches" to be made. YoYo Games expects to start publishing of games in Android Market Place early in next year.
