Nintendo 3DS Cosmo BlackNintendo finally announced release dates for their upcoming portable console — Nintendo 3DS. Successor of Nintendo DS will be released on February 26, 2011 in Japan with price of USD$300, March 25th in Europe and March 27th in US ( priced at 250$ ). Wide game publishers support is also claimed — in 2011 for 3DS will be released such games as Super Street Fighter IV 3D EditionKid Icarus: UprisingThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Dead or Alive Dimensions, Ridge Racer 3D, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars and The Sims 3.

Nintendo 3DS will be the first gaming console providing 3D display capabilities that can be viewed without special glasses. Top screen is the main one and it's a 3D display with 3,5" diagonal lenght and 800x240 resolution, which have on the side slider that controls 3D-depth ( that mean you can easily tweak 3D settings or disable them at all ), bottom one is touch screen and it's smaller ( 3" ) with 320х240 resolution. Console have three VGA cameras, two on outer side ( capable of taking 3d photos and probably 3d video ) and one on inner side. Additionally 3DS console supplied with motion sensor ( accelerometer ) and gyroscope.

Backward compatibility with previous Nintendo DS games is also implemented. 3DS probably will become a main weapon in Nintendo's fight with smartphone games ( previously iOS games and AppStore was mentioned as a main competitor for Nintendo consoles by company itself ) and upcoming PSP2, which has to be announced in days. Company aiming to sell 4 million 3DS consoles by the end of March.
