Autodesk Maya 2012 Hotfix 3 with Simplified Chinese Support

in category.
Autodesk Maya 2012Autodesk company recently released their next "hot" update for its popular 3d software packet Autodesk Maya 2012. Hotfix 3 features only one specified change — Maya 2012 with this update received support for Simplified Chinese language in interface.

So, with Hotfix 3 installed Maya 2012 will automatically run with interface in Simplified Chinese or Japanese, if current OS environment ( locale ) language is set to one of this two languages. If you want to see how Maya will look with hieroglyphs in menu items — you need to set OS locale to corresponding language and reboot your PC. In Windows this can be done through Control Panel and Language and Region Settings. Don't forget how to navigate to this menu, if you actually will try this — otherwise you'll have to stick with Chinese hieroglyphs in your OS forever smile2

In addition Maya 2012 users now can read Help in three languages — English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. There is no other new features or bug fixes in Hotfix 3 — while Hotfix 1 and Hotfix 2 actually had some fixes, third update didn't have any of them, so for most users it can be considered useless. Anyway, you still can download Autodesk Maya 2012 Hotfix 3. All of the Hotfixes is cummulative, which means it contains the fixes from the hotfix(es) that preceded it. Windows users can obtain Hotfix 3 in form of relatively small sized patch, while Linux and MacOS owners have to do complete re-install from new distributive.
