Autodesk continues to supply it's adepts with new portions of updates and bug fixes for
Maya 2012 — this time, unlike the
almost useless H otfix 3, new
Hotfix 4 that was released July, 29 can offer something more than just Simplified Chinese support and has some real bug fixes.
Among the fixed errors it's possible to highlight patched bug with not working Wacom mouse in Maya 2012, fixed bug in
nCloth colliding calculations, crash when importing EXR file from Mudbox and several other ones. Also looks like known bug with disappearing RenderView window and
Error: setParent: object ‘renderView’ not found probably was fixed ( refer to bug #386482 in
Hotfix 4 Readme ). Workround for this bug was reviewed in my blog and already collected almost 2000 views, so it was pretty common problem for Maya users. I hope that this bug was really fixed.
Maya 2012 Hotfix 4 also provides some fixes for
Composite 2012. Windows users have to uninstall old Composite 2012 and download new installation package to have Composite updated to Hotfix 4, while Linux and MacOS users will receive this update with primary Hotfix 4 installer for their platforms.
Let me remind that all Hotfix releases are
cummulative and contain fixes from all of the previous releases — you need to install only latest one. For example,
Ho tfix 3 featured Simplified Chinese support in Interface and Help, in
Hotfi x 2 mental ray license was updated and more than 20 bugs was fixed, and
Ho tfix 1 implemented support for Python API 2.0 and had updated
Digital Molecular Matter ( DMM ) plugin — all of this updates are included in Hotfix 4.
You can learn about all of the changes and fixes made in Hotfix 4 from
here, also you can proceed and
download Autodesk Maya 2012 Hotfix 4.
You say you're the only author, then you write "you can always leave a message for an author". That means there is more than one author.
I came here looking for quick help and had to read at least 40% of your sentences twice and then stop to think about them, because you don't use articles correctly. If you're going to use the language to communicate, learn it better...much better.
I mean, "What is your skill level as 3D artist?" "as *a* 3D artist..." And no need for all the capital letters.
Nothing to say, you're right. Still it is a relatively old article, and while there was no fundamental changes in my knowledge of English since then, I belive that now I write a little more correctly. As for Poll title — it's supposed to be "title", so all capital letters are there for this purpose. Yet at second look it is indeed looks a little strange — I will edit poll title right now. Thanks for such comment, this is not the first time when I have heard about my English level, but things like that motivate me to just sit down and do something with it.
